Planning your Hajj journey in 2025? Whether it’s your first Hajj or a return pilgrimage, being well-prepared is essential. This updated Hajj checklist includes all the essentials you will need — from Ihram garments and toiletries to spiritual items.
Every year, thousands of pilgrims face challenges because they forget important items. To help you focus on the spiritual experience of Hajj, we’ve created a complete and practical Hajj packing list for men and women, covering everything you need to stay organised, comfortable, and prepared during your Hajj trip.

Clothing and Footwear – Hajj Checklist
- Ihram – including a spare, you may well need to change it if one becomes soiled/ unclean
- Waist pouch/ Hajj belt – keeps your ihram secure and valuables can be stored with you too
- Flip flops – good quality to provide cushioning and support for your feet
- Sandals – good quality/ hardwearing to cope with lots of walking. Be sure they are Ihram compliant (top part of the feet must be exposed)
- Light jacket for Muzdalifa
- Sleeping bag – used for sleeping overnight in Muzdalifa
- Musalla/ prayer mat
- Gym bag – useful to carry your musalla in, and once inside haram footwear also
- safety pins – can be used to keep your ihram in place, helping to avoid it getting dirty
Toiletries and Personal Care – Hajj Checklist
- Vaseline/ anti chafing gel
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Soap – unscented
- Shampoo – unscented
- Razor
- Wet wipes – unscented
- Spare glasses/ contact lenses
- Hydration tablets
- Medication and cough sweets Tissues
- Water bottle – essential to keep hydrated throughout your stay in Makkah/ Madinah
- Sun glasses/ shades
- Umbrella – offer you protection from the sun and heat, especially during Arafat
- Mobile phone with sim card, charger and/ or power bank
Sunnah Items & Religious Essentials – Hajj Checklist
- Small Qur’an
- Hajj guide/ Du’a books/ Personal Du’a list
- Small shoulder bag – to keep Qur’an and Kitabs in
- Tawaf Tasbih – helps keep count of how many rounds you have completed when doing Tawaf or Sa’i between Safa & Marwah
- Small bag for pebbles required for stoning the jamarat/ pelting the Shaitan in Mina

in KSA u can use your cridit card anywhere,,,(with its password in any treatment)

Strongly agree with the gym bag, u get them free when u purchase a sim card from saudi(mobily). Many people had the bright blue mobily bags, great marketing.
There is one essential missing information,
WATER
more importantly zam zam, remember during haj, zam zam water is incerasingly hard to come by, and there is no time to eat properly, most people get ill from lack of water, i stronlgy recommend having atleast two bottles of zam zam. Especially at Muzdalifah, apart from a few stall sellers, there is no water availabile.

Hajj travellers or groups are adviced to buy before travelling.
