Kindness to Neighbours

Rights of neighbours in Islam

Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of being kind to one’s neighbours. He said, “The Angel Gabriel kept advising me about the rights of the neighbor so much that I thought he would make him an heir.”

Helping neighbours in Islam

One day, a companion of the Prophet noticed his neighbor struggling with some heavy goods. He immediately went over to help. As they worked together, the neighbor revealed he was having a hard time and hadn’t eaten properly for days.

The companion, remembering the Prophet’s teachings, invited the neighbor to his home, shared his food, and offered any help needed. This act of kindness brought them closer and fostered a sense of community.

This story illustrates the profound significance Islam places on caring for one’s neighbors, highlighting the importance of kindness, assistance, and empathy in maintaining harmonious and supportive communities.
